No more light than what the day gives
So if I have to see, then please don’t hide
I’m not trying to pry open the door to your privacy
Just trying to find out where I stand
Something’s moving at the edge of my vision
Flickering out like a dream gone bad
Going through my memory for something a bit more tangible, yeah
To get me down where it counts

I have come here for forgiveness
Are you my Jesus now
Will you be crucified
I’ve come here for forgetfulness
Play my, play my, play my saviour
Take my cross to bear
For of worries I had my share

There’s so many places I still have to go
With so many things here left undone
And the deadlines are looming up ahead while we are down
Here where you are
Just like we didn’t have enough going around

I’ve come here for forgiveness
Are you my Jesus now
Will you be crucified
I’ve come here for forgetfulness
Play my saviour
Please, take my cross to bear

You check the score
Do you have all the facts down
How do you lie?
It doesn’t matter anyway
No-one’s gonna end it
Something like a story
Is coming in handy
I’ll let you play,
I’ll let you play your game

I’ve come here for forgiveness
Are you my Jesus now
Will you be crucified?
I’ve come here for forgiveness
So what do you do, what do you do, what do you do
What’s your excuse

I’ve come here for forgiveness
Be my Jesus now
Will you be crucified?
I’ve come here for forgetfulness
Play my saviour
Please, take my cross to bare

No more light than what the day gives
So if I have to see, then please don’t hide
I’m not trying to pry open the thoughts of your secrecy
Just trying to find out where I stand

Something’s moving at the edge of recognition
Flickering out like a flat dream
Going through my memory for something more tangible
To get it down where it counts

I have come here for forgiveness
You’re my Jesus now
Will you be crucified?
I’ve come here for forgetfulness
Be my, play my, Be my saviour
Take my cross to bear
For of worries I had my share
