Poets of the Fall released the CD single Cradled in Love on 26th January 2012. It was also released digitally on 6th February 2012.
On 3rd March 2012 a music video was released for Cradled in Love, directed by Mikko Härmä & Santeri Enstedt.[1] It was produced by Kolera Productions and Cuba Films.
The track was then included as the third track on Temple of Thought, the band's 2012 fifth full album.
On 5th September 2014 a 4:45 live version was included as track 4 on the Daze single.

Marko, 2012 - "The mansion represents your inner self, life mind or thoughts. You then have the story of this girl coming to the house, almost involuntarily. She is walking backwards and then the music starts playing and something wakes up that has been dormant in that house. It sort of starts to follow the girl around and tell stories. We see the girl going around from one room to another to see what this place is like. In the end she sort of lit up this well of light in there and she gets to walk out. She then leaves the place in peace or does she because then this something is also sleeping there, but maybe this something has been dreaming and is now sleeping peacefully."[2]
Trivia
- The lyrics booklet for Temple of Thought identifies the character from the Cradled in Love MV as being Jeremiah Peacekeeper, as in The Ballad of Jeremiah Peacekeeper. He had also previously featured in the video for Can You Hear Me.
- Live performances add a guitar solo to the track.
- "Like sailing to the storm" seems to refer back to Morning Tide - "We'll hoist the sails to brave the crashing waves".
