- The MV for Requiem for My Harlequin appears to call back to the line: I raise my glass and say "here's to you"
- In live performances, Marko sometimes adds an f-bomb to the bridge: Can you chase your demon or will the f**ker take your freedom?
- The lyrics may be in reference to the writings of philosopher René Descartes, who envisioned the idea of a "demon" manipulating one's senses - whose existence cannot be refuted.
- The line "With freedom comes silence" may be partially explained by the line "Silence of the mind ever deafening, rain on the roof ever prattling" in Choice Millionaire, where freedom leads to a mental silence rather than a literal one.
- The lyrics may exhibit an intentional hypocrisy in their warning to the listener - that the things said to make a person see are an ulterior attempt to coerce - yet the first line is "Look in my eyes, I'll make you see".
