Objects of Power is a term coined in the 2019 Remedy Entertainment game Control - a type of Altered Item connected to the Astral Plane. In addition to the features of an Altered Item (ordinary objects which have been acted upon by paranatural forces during Altered World Events - intrusions on the percieved reality - resulting in the development of unique and sometimes dangerous properties), Objects of Power can only be bound by a parautilitarian, allowing them to wield the object's abilities. Objects of Power can also be seen elsewhere in the Remedy Connected Universe, such as the Oh Deer Diner Thermos which acts as a save point in Alan Wake II.
Additionally, Objects of Power make cameo appearances in multiple Poets of the Fall music videos:
- The Hotline telephone is used prominently in the music video for My Dark Disquiet
- The Clicker light switch appears in the music video for War
- A manuscript page produced by Alan Wake's Typewriter OoP also appears in the MV for War
Several objects in Poets of the Fall MVs seemingly unrelated to the Remedy Connected Universe also have similar properties to an Object of Power, such as the Hopecatcher from the Choice Millionaire MV.
