Lyrics

A single kiss for your treasure

There just left at your door Life has shown you no pleasure before

Double cross for a symbol Name your rosary beads You will nurture the fable till it bleeds Bleeds for your love

No more tragic love for sale in the crooked gallery High on acid love gone stale seems like fantasy Just like magic Hubris leads, leads its hounds, hounds to Hamartia

What you eclipse makes your measure What you leave reaches for you in your stead Taking flaws for a gamble to get ahead

No remorse for the trouble spread In the revolution

No more tragic love for sale...

Hit or miss you'll be playing Paying your dues cos you need the game all the same Fame draws you like fireflies to the flame Play all on red

No more tragic love for sale...

Trivia

  • The word "hamartia" is spelled in numerical code on the front cover of Twilight Theater.
  • As stated at the end of the track, the instrumental used in Hounds to Hamartia was originally from the first version of Late Goodbye, with Marko confirming in interview that there was also a third at-that-point unreleased version.
  • The third version of the instrumental is suspected to have been used for Hello Cabaret due to heavy similarities and a line from Standstill: "Oh, the first hello. To the late goodbye"
  • The line "No more tragic love for sale in the crooked gallery" may be a call-back to "The images they sell are illusion and dream" from Illusion & Dream.
  • "Double cross for a symbol" carries a double meaning - betrayal over ideology, or a Cross of Lorraine.
