Locking Up the Sun is the fourth track on Poets of the Fall's 2006 second album Carnival of Rust. It was also released as the album's third single in late 2006, with an accompanying music video.
The single features an exclusive version of the song called "The Absolution" - a remix by Captain.

Locking up the Sun was a video where we had to show a different kind of PotF since this was their first release on single that wasn’t really a lovesong.[1]
Trivia
- In live performances, Marko frequently swaps out the lyrics to: Who doesn't turn a blind eye to my crime?
- Marko has also on numerous occasions opened the track with what can only be described as a haunting musical chant that spans a wide vocal range.
- The single's copyright statement ends with "Treat with care, healthy foods and the occasional pizza. No coffee, candy or cola, except when treating with pizza. Keep away from hazardous substances such as water..."
