The Happy Song was released as a digital promo single on 22nd February 2012 to coincide with its inclusion in the Remedy Entertainment game Alan Wake's American Nightmare, where it plays on a tv screen showing Mr Scratch dancing in a motel room.
It was included as the eleventh track on Temple of Thought, the 2012 fifth full album by Poets of the Fall. This is the final track on the Standard Edition of the album.
