The Signs of Life Trilogy (also known as the something of something or X of Y trilogy) is a musical trilogy consisting three Poets of the Fall albums: Signs of Life, Carnival of Rust and Temple of Thought.^[2]

All three titles consist of three words, the middle word is of in each case.
The symbolism of the Lollipop in the first two albums and polarised red and white Markos on the third may all relate to Taijitu (see Lollipop page).

The trilogy is concluded with the track homonymous of the first instalment of the trilogy "Signs of Life", included as a bonus track in the third and final instalment of the trilogy "Temple of Thought (Bonus Edition)". The track ends with the opening guitar riff of Lift, implying a cyclical tracklisting similar to the structure of Pink Floyd's The Wall.
