Clearview is the seventh album by the Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall and the first album of the Clearview Trilogy. It was released on 30th September 2014[1]
On 11 June 2015, the band announced that they had begun working on their seventh studio album.[2] In January 2016, they announced they would be working with Kent producer Stefan Boman on the album. On 26 May 2016, the band announced that their seventh album would be titled Clearview, to be released on 30 September 2016 and is to be followed by an extensive world tour.[3] On 4 August 2016, the album's first single, "Drama for Life", was released. Clearview was released on 30 September 2016, co-inciding with the start of the Clearview Tour in Helsinki.[4]

- The lyrics booklet shows the chessboard layout from a pivotal moment in the 1956 Byrne v Fischer game known as the "game of the century." This same layout can be seen in the MV for False Kings. Fischer, playing black, gained renown in this game aged just 13 by making a daring knight sacrifice - likely the reason for the black knight icon on the album's cover. A character in the 2011 film Inception about Mental Worlds is named after Fischer.
- The album's copyright statement includes the line "Respect nature. Protect animals. Promote human rights. Support music. Live in peace. Play!"
- This is the only Poets of the Fall album to not have either an associated eponymous track or the album name stated in lyrics. (Signs of Life has an eponymous track on Temple of Thought)
