Elmeri Raitanen is a visual effects artist based in Espoo, Finland. In 2006, Raitanen worked on the VFX in the music video for Poets of the Fall's Locking Up the Sun. Later in 2009, as his bachelor-thesis in visual and media arts at Lahti Institute of Design he remastered the video for Carnival of Rust and reissued it in high definition. This remastered version is the one that is currently available on YouTube.
He went on to work for Remedy Entertainment and has risen through the vfx department throughout the development of Alan Wake, Quantum Break and Control, currently holding the title of art director. Quantum Break was nominated for "Outstanding Visual Effects in a Real Time Project" at the 15th VES (Visual Effects Society) awards in 2017. Control won the same category at the 18th VES awards in 2020.
