Signs of Life is the debut album by the Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall. It was released on 19 January 2005[1]and is the first album of the Signs of Life Trilogy The album debuted at number-one on the Finnish charts.[2] The album was certified platinum on 26 April 2006 [3] and remained in the Top 40 for more than one year [4] (56 weeks[5]). The album was released on the iTunes Music Shop in Finland, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden in August 2005.[6] It was released on iTunes for worldwide purchase on 12 April 2008. A limited black vinyl was released on the band's official webshop on 19 January 2011. In 2023, the vinyl was re-issued in curacao turquoise.
The booklet contains song lyrics and a password that used to grant access to a secret page on the band's website that hosted a remix of Lift, entitled "Dramadance Remix" - as well as wallpapers made from the Lift MV and album artwork. The remix was made by Captain. Due to changes to the website since then, the secret page is no longer available. The album artwork was created by Marko Saaresto and Pertti Kainulainen.[7]

Trivia
- The album's copyright statement ends with "and don't forget to brush your teeth..."
- On the Facebook page of the band in a comment it is clearly stated that the title Signs of Life is not a reference to the Pink Floyd-instrumental of the same name released in 1987, it is "merely a coincidence".[10]
